The Business Case For Charity with United Way of Bartholomew County President, Mark Stewart

This is our NEW monthly event created by CYP's Careers Committee. The Careers Committee's focus is to help develop the future leaders of Columbus by promoting leadership opportunities and providing networking and professional development opportunities. This monthly event will be held every Fourth Tuesday, noon-1.00pm at the Columbus Area Visitors Center. Each month will be focused on a different topic and hosted by a different community leader.

Tuesday, April 24 • noon-1.00pm • Visitors Center (Fifth & Franklin Streets) • The Business Case For Charity: The new President of The United Way Of Bartholomew County, Mark Stewart, will present on the organization and the value brought to Columbus through business partnerships. Get Connected With CYP

This is our NEW monthly event created by CYP's Careers Committee. The Careers Committee's focus is to help develop the future leaders of Columbus by promoting leadership opportunities and providing networking and professional development opportunities. This monthly event will be held every Fourth Tuesday, noon-1.00pm at the Columbus Area Visitors Center. Each month will be focused on a different topic and hosted by a different community leader.

Second Saturday is CYP's newest monthly event created by CYP's Community Committee. This is a monthly event, held every second Saturday of the month, that helps provide young professionals the opportunity to give back to the community. The time and location will change each month. Contact Cheryl Wright for more information. CYP members who volunteer at events coordinated by the CYP Community Committee will be entered into a drawing for a great prize each quarter!

Saturday, March 10 • 10.00am • Columbus Bowling Center: Big Brothers Big Sisters has enlisted CYP to help with their annual fundraiser. Be part of the fun while helping a great cause. Social gathering for volunteers immediately following. Contact Cheryl Wright for more info.

KidsCommons Carnivale

CYP had 15 volunteers helping out at the Rio-themed Carnivale, KidsCommons' annual fundraiser, for the very first CYP Second Saturday on Feb 11. CYP volunteers helped to serve food and drinks, as well as helping to clean up after the event. The Carnivale was a huge success, achieving the second highest ever net profit. Many of the volunteers stayed after their voluntary shifts ended to dance the night away! Thank you to all our volunteers: Abbie Bush, Shawn Bush, Carl Chandler, Brittany Cleland, Nida Farooq, Umar Farooq, Heather Gipson, Anne Marshall, Gray Marshall, Jenifer Slabaugh, Josh White, Cheryl Wright, and Paul Wright.



CANstruction

CANstruction was a huge success, with 6 teams building some amazing structures. The event, taking place from February 18 to 25, raised more than 11,000 cans of food, before the public donations were even counted. This year's teams were United Way of Bartholomew County, Toyota Industrial Equipment Manufacturing, Starving Artists, Columbus Sunrise Rotary Club, Columbus East Senior Jasmine Santos, and Cummins Inc. In addition to co-sponsoring the event, CYP had four volunteers who patrolled the mall and helped answer questions about the event. Thank you to our volunteers: Kelly Baker, Heather Gipson, Brooke Hawkins, and Cheryl Wright.
