Diane and her family moved to Columbus in March of 1993 from Decatur IL. Her and her husband, Mike, have three grown children, Drew, Eric and Laura. In Decatur, she was an industrial buyer for Bridgestone / Firestone, Inc. After moving to Columbus, she became involved as a community volunteer, serving on several organizations' board of directors, as well as on school-related committees. She served on the board of directors of the Columbus Area Visitors Center and the Columbus Area Arts Council.
Diane is involved with the United Way, serving on the Community Impact Committee, and also leads the downtown merchants association as a volunteer. In addition, she is a member of the Let’s Grown Garden Club and Columbus Culture Club. After working at the kidscommons as the community relations/marketing manager for 11.5 years , she took the position of Executive Director at the Bartholomew County Historical Society in January of 2018.
